We also had delicious desserts- a big chocolate chip cookie, a tasty key lime tart, and coconut macaroons, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We’re often asked for lists of “What to do in Banner Elk, NC,” but what about “What to eat? I started with a coconut curry soup that was perfect to nip the chill from the air outside. charcuterie board with cheeses, meats and a variety of dried fruits, nuts, and homemade pickles. We sat outside on the small patio, and it felt very safe! The ingredients were fresh and delicious! We started with a. Some other reviewers noted the price, but it was definitely worth it! My family of 5 went for lunch after zip lining nearby. Overall it was a great meal and will definitely return. The service was OK - our waitress appeared to be new( she was not aware the oysters could only be ordered for 6 or 12 and no other number. We shared the salad, we sat on the left dining area near the door leading to the outside dining area - stay away from that seating it felt like grand central station (probably only people from the north would understand that remark), a waitress was going in and out of that door all through dinner. My wife had the trout which for $34 wa a bit small and over cooked. Lobster was under cooked is just the way I love it - not over cooked and tough which is how you get in most restaurants. That dish was homage pasta with a light whole tomato sauce, with a large claw of lobster. I had their salad with eggplant - which was great - the eggplant was slightly marinated, the salad had a lemon and oil dressing. They have a limited menu and in my opinion that is a good thing. We had the broccoli and fresh tomato salad which was the worst miss of the day. ![]() Sandwiches come with chips or for an extra $1.50 you can upgrade to salad. The curried chicken salad was delicious but served on a heavy focaccia bread that obscured the taste. It desperately needed some heat and spice to counteract the overwhelming sweetness. It tasted like blended pineapple with no other flavors. The soup of the day, a pineapple gazpacho was a big miss. The calamari was also prepared perfectly-light and crisp. The oysters were fresh and briny if a bit on the small size. They offered two selections of oysters which you could have raw or grilled. The hits of the day were the oysters and calamari.
